Awesome Mountain Vacations’ Above the Clouds cabin
I’m looking for a large accessible cabin in the Pigeon Forge area that will sleep eight people. A roll-in shower is a plus, but if need be I can make due with a tub/shower combination, as long as it has grab bars. Do you have any suggestions?
Absolutely. I think Above the Clouds — an accessible ridge-top cabin — will be perfect for you. It’s located just a short drive from the little-used back entrance of Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Wears Valley.
This spacious cabins sleeps up to 11 guests, and features ramp access up to the back deck, and level access to the ground floor. And although there’s no elevator in the cabin, there is also ramp access to the front door, and level access to the main floor.
The main floor features a kitchen, dining room and living area, plus a bedroom with a king-sized bed. The adjacent bathroom has a roll-in shower with grab bars, a hand-held showerhead and a fold-down shower bench. Other access features include a toilet with grab bars on the back and right walls (as seated), and a roll-under sink.
The ground floor is equally accessible, as it houses a massive game room with a double-over-queen bunk bed, and a bedroom with a king-sized bed and a standard Jacuzzi tub. There is also good pathway access to the bathroom which is outfitted with a large roll-in shower with grab bars, a hand-held showerhead and a fold-down shower seat. The toilet has one grab bar on the back wall, and a second ground-floor bathroom is equipped with a standard tub/shower combination and a toilet with a grab bar on the back wall. A washer and dryer are also located on this floor.

The third floor loft, which can only be accessed by stairs, contains a pool table, a twin sofa bed and a standard bathroom. And there’s also a queen-sized fold-out sofa bed in the main floor living room.
