New Wheelchair-Accessible Bus Service Between Banff and Lake Louise
A new accessible public transit bus route (8X) between Banff and Lake Louise was launched last month. Operated by Roam Public Transit, the route includes stops at the high school transit hub and the train station in Banff, before it travels along the Trans-Canada Highway to Samson Mall in Lake Louise Village and on to the Lake Louise lakeshore. This express bus operates from May 17 to September 15, from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Four new wheelchair-accessible buses, which were designed with input from people with disabilities, were purchased specifically for this route. The shuttle is an excellent option for day trips from Banff, as parking can be in short supply during peak times at Lake Louise. One-way tickets are priced at $8, $4 for seniors.
