Visiting Albuquerque? Then Check Out These Better Call Saul Filming Locations
Recently renewed for a fifth season, the popular television series Better Call Saul chronicles the antics of Jimmy McGill, a small time attorney who hustles to make a name for himself in Albuquerque, New Mexico. A prequil to Breaking Bad, McGill later changes his name to Saul Goodman, and goes on to represent the notorious Walter White in that equally popular series. And since Better Call Saul is filmed in Albuquerque, fans can actually visit some of the popular locations in real life. So check out these Better Call Saul filming sites on your next Albuquerque visit. Even if you aren’t a super fan, it still makes for a fun afternoon; and you never know who — or what — you might run into along the way.
Jimmy’s First Law Office
160 Juan Tabo Blvd.
Albuquerque, NM
Located on the corner of Skyline and Juan Tabo, a seedy shopping center houses the site of Jimmy’s first law office — a nail salon. Not only did Jimmy work and sleep in the back room of the salon, but he also had some entertaining exchanges with Mrs. Nguyen, the owner. There’s level access around the shopping center and over to the salon, with plenty of room to maneuver a wheelchair and take a few photos.
Loyola’s Family Restaurant
4500 Central Ave,
Albuquerque, NM
This coffee shop was established as Mike Ehrmantraut’s meeting place in Breaking Bad; and in Better Call Saul it also becomes Jimmy’s meeting place. After all he can’t exactly see clients in his nail salon home/office. There’s plenty of street parking in front of the restaurant, and barrier-free access inside, so go on in, grab a booth and have a bite to eat.
Chuck’s House
1607 San Cristobal Rd.
Albuquerque, NM
Located in a nice quiet neighborhood near the Albuquerque Country Club, this two-story home is where Jimmy’s brother, Chuck McGill, lives. There’s plenty of street parking, and room enough to get out and snap a few photos. Sadly, the infamous mailbox is gone, but it’s not unusual to see fans looking for it. Chuck had a strange aversion to all things electric, so visitors were required to deposit their cell phones in the mailbox before they entered the domicile.
Mike’s House
204 Edith Blvd NE
Albuquerque, NM
Mike Ehrmantraut’s modest home is just a 10-minute drive away from Chuck’s house, just off of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Mike is a former beat cop who was on the take, and he first met Jimmy when he worked as a parking attendant at the courthouse. As the series progresses, Mike subsequently works for Saul as a private investigator and general fixer. Parking on Mike’s street is only by permit, but it’s possible to stop for a minute to get a quick photo. Just don’t linger.
Twisters
4257 Isleta Blvd SW
Albuquerque, NM
No Better Call Saul tour would be complete without a stop at Twisters, which was Los Pollos Hermanos — a fried chicken fast food joint — in the series. There’s barrier-free access to the restaurant, which is featured in both Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad, as a front for a drug smuggling operation. Go on in and enjoy a burrito or a burger, but be on the lookout for Better Call Saul fans. You can’t miss them — they’re the ones taking selfies with the Los Pollos Hermanos logo, which is proudly displayed near the entrance.
