New Washington National Parks Access Guide Released
If a trip to Washington state is in your future, then pick up a copy of Barrier-Free Travel: Olympic and Mount Rainier National Parks for Wheelers and Slow Walkers. Penned by Emerging Horizons editor, Candy Harrington, this inclusive book is the second in a series of accessible travel guides to popular destinations throughout the United States.
The book, which was released in August, highlights accessible trails, sites, and attractions in Olympic and Mount Rainier National Parks; and includes detailed access descriptions and photos of lodging options in and near the national parks.
Harrington realized this guide was sorely needed on her last visit to the parks. “When I was directed to an ‘accessible trail’ by a park employee, and arrived to find that it had 24 steps, that was the last straw. I knew I had to write an access guide with accurate trail descriptions,” says Harrington.
