Best Las Vegas Hotel for Power Wheelchair-User?
I use a power wheelchair and I travel with an attendant. I’ve heard that Las Vegas is pretty accessible and I’d love to go there. Can you offer any recommendations for the most accessible hotel on the Strip? I need a room with a roll-in shower and plenty of room to navigate my large wheelchair. Also, what’s the most accessible way to get to and from the airport?
Las Vegas is a good choice for you, as the Strip has a large selection of accessible properties. Even better, many properties have more than the required number of accessible rooms. That said, the “high needs rooms” at Treasure Island and the Encore at the Wynn go over the top, as they also have ceiling track lifts in them. The Wynn property is the newer of the two, so it would be my first choice. Make sure that you specify that you need an accessible room with a ceiling track lift when you make your reservation though, as not all of the accessible rooms are equipped with them.
Getting to and from the airport is easy too, as all Las Vegas cab companies are required to have accessible taxis. It’s easy to get an accessible taxi van at the airport, and at your hotel just ask the doorman to get one for you.
All in all Las Vegas is a very accessible choice. Have fun!
