As Old Man Winter takes his best shot at us, the thought of sitting on a warm welcoming beach sounds pretty appealing. Unfortunately most beaches present inherent obstacles for wheelchair-users and slow walkers. With that in mind, here’s a sampling of accessible beaches that have everything from beach mats and hard-packed sand, to boardwalks, beach wheelchairs and even amphibious wheelchairs. Now everyone can enjoy the beach!
Lincoln City
The Oregon coastal town of Lincoln City has installed Mobi-Mats at selected beaches, and offers free beach wheelchairs.
