Wheelchair Accessible Indonesia
Accessible tours to Java, Bali and Sulawesi are now available through Accessible Indonesia, a Sulawesi-based organization that hopes to introduce disabled travelers to this island nation, as well as encourage the government to make more access improvements throughout the country. These escorted tours include airport transfers, accommodations, and transportation within the country. The tours range from 5 to 18 days, and they are tailored to each participant’s individual access needs. Accessible SCUBA and snorkel excursions can also be arranged. Additionally, Accessible Indonesia can provide a variety of adaptive equipment including portable ramps, grab bars, transfer boards, commode chairs and (coming soon) a beach wheelchair. Best of all, Accessible Indonesia maintains a database of accessibility information on tourist sights throughout the country, so travelers will have a good idea of what to expect when they arrive. For more information about the tours, visit www.accessibleindonesia.org, drop them an e-mail at info@accessibleindonesia.org, or give them a call at +62 812 42 966446.
