The good news is that the fjords are absolutely beautiful, and you can enjoy a lot of the scenery from the ship itself.

Accessible taxis are available in Oslo through Oslo Taxi (www.oslotaxi.no/oslo-taxi-english/main-menu/welcome/). Unfortunately they are quite expensive, but at least they offer an accessible option.

Farther north, Geiranger Taxi (www.geirangertaxi.no) has some wheelchair-accessible vehicles, and they can also arrange accessible walking tours of the area.

And if your cruise calls on Bergen, you might want to contact Bergen Guide Services (www.bergenguideservice.no) as they offer a number of walking tours, and they can customize accessible tours on request.

Additionally, one reader who recently returned from a Norwegian fjords cruise reported that there’s a wheelchair-accessible boat tour of the smaller fjords in Scavenger, and the Flamsbana train has ramp access. She also noted that Olden has a small accessible city train, and Aalesund has an accessible step-on/step-off bus.
