Arches Timed Entry Reservation System Continues in 2024
An Arches Timed Entry Reservation will be required again in 2024 at this popular national park. . “We received many positive comments from people who enjoyed the guaranteed arrival time and reduced congestion they experienced during the 2023 vehicle reservation pilot,” said Arches National Park Acting Superintendent Brendan Bray. “A repeat pilot program in 2024 will help us learn more about how such systems can provide visitors with the opportunity for enjoyable experiences while protecting the extraordinary landscapes they come to see.”

An Arches Timed Entry Reservation is required for visitors who enter the park from April 1 to October 31, 2024, between 7 AM and 4 PM. Beginning at 8 AM MST on January 2, 2024, reservations will be released in monthly blocks on the first of each month. They will be available at www.recreation.gov for a $2 processing fee. The reservation blocks are listed below.

- May 1-31 reservations open February 1 at 8 AM MST
- June 1-30 reservations open on March 1 at 8 AM MST

Once a reservation is booked, visitors will receive a timed entry ticket which they must bring with them to the park. They will also need to bring valid photo identification and a park pass or entrance fee. Reservations can be made in hourly increments and are only valid for that hour. Reservations cannot be sold or given away, and the reservation name must match the name on the timed entry ticket. Visitors who want to visit the park on two different days will need two different timed entry reservations.
Once visitors enter the park, they can stay for the entire day. Ticket holders may also exit and re-enter the park on the same day with a correctly validated ticket.
No Ticket? Try This
Reservation slots are expected to fill fast, so try and make yours as close to the first of the month as possible. If you’re not able to get a advance sale timed entry ticket, a limited number of next-day tickets will be available after 7 PM MDT every day. They will only be available from www.recreation.gov. No entry tickets will be available for sale at the entrance station.
Timed entry tickets are not required for folks with camping reservations, backcountry permits or tour tickets. Tribal members also don’t need timed entry tickets.
People who walk into the park do not need a timed entry ticket; however the park road is definitely not wheelchair-accessible, as it has several steep climbs. There is also no transportation in the park, so slow walkers and wheelchair-users who choose this option will not be able to go beyond the visitor center.
On the other hand, timed entry tickets are only required for visitors who enter the park between 7 AM and 4 PM. Getting a pre-dawn start or making plans for some after hours star gazing are two ways to get around the timed entry ticket requirement at Arches National Park.
