Wheelchair-Accessible San Juan Transportation
Emerging Horizons reader and frequent Puerto Rico traveler Tim Elliott recently shared some helpful information about finding affordable wheelchair-accessible transportation in San Juan. He reported using the Llame y Viaje (call and travel) program, which is operated by the San Juan paratransit agency. If you use paratransit at home, then all you have to do is have your eligibility information sent to the San Juan paratransit office. Once approved, you’ll get a 21-day pass for transportation around the island. Like other paratransit companies, they do request that you schedule your rides in advance, but Elliott reported that he had no problems with them showing up on time, even when his incoming flight was late. For more information call (787) 294-0500 ext. 599. It’s also important to noteĀ that the employees in this government office primarily speak Spanish.
