Helping Heroes Fly
In late August, President Obama signed the Helping Heroes Fly Act into law. The new law amends title 49, United States Code, and directs the Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security to provide expedited airport screening to severely injured or disabled members of the Armed Forces. Among other things, the law requires Transportation Security Administration screeners to be trained to prevent discrepancies in the treatment of wounded warriors at security checkpoints in airports across America.
