In order to regulate the number of visitors at some popular national parks, the National Park Service has implemented an entry reservation system during peak visitation times. Although the rules vary from park to park, the reservations can all be made at www.recreation.gov. It’s important to note that national park entrance reservations are not available at the parks, and visitors who don’t have one will be turned away. And an entry reservation is required even if you have a national park pass. Entry reservations are not required if you have lodging, campground or tour reservations in the park. So plan ahead to avoid disappointment if one of these national parks is on your travel itinerary.
