I will be honest with you about travel agents — many say that they can book accessible travel, but very few really understand the nuts and bolts of it all, or even have the experience to book a truly accessible trip. That said I have two suggestions for you, and your choice will depend on your destination. I’ve known both ladies personally and professionally for 25 years and you will be in good hand with whoever you choose.

The first one is Debra Kerper, and she owns Easy Access Travel (easyaccesstravel.com). She is a bilateral amputee and she plans accessible cruises. She also knows the ports and has experience planning accessible shore excursions, so she may be able to arrange for the ceremony to be held at one of the ports of call. Lots of folks are doing cruise destination weddings these days, and there are so many ways you can go with that idea.

My other choice is Ann Litt, owner of Undiscovered Britain & Ireland (undiscoveredbritain.com). She is an expert on accessibility in the UK, and she personally inspects all the hotels that she uses for her clients. She’s even arranged accessible group tours to the UK, so she’s your go-to gal if that’s your destination choice.  She can also help with Continental Europe as she has built up a long list of reputable accessible tourism providers in that area.

I can also tell you that neither of these ladies will tell you that something is accessible just to get your booking — they are both very knowledgeable and honest professionals. As I said, you are in good hands with either one of them.
